Model and poker champion Liv Boeree will cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony of Poker in the Park on the 2nd September.
Liv won £1,000,000 at the EPT San Remo main event in Italy last May.

Lee Naughter, the general manager of the Grosvenor Casino Newcastle upon Tyne England has been arrested on alleged bigamy chargers.

Prosecutors believe the 38 year old was still married to Helen Naughter when he travelled to South Africa in June and returned with his new wife Michelle Du Plessis.

Italian Officials in Milan
Call for a Vice Tax
Giampaolo Landi is against opening Milan’s first casino and has called for a “ Vice Tax “ aimed at the city’s 15,000 pathological gamblers.
The new casino which will feature video-poker and slot machines, has long been wanted by some Milanese.
According to Landi, games fever and vice have a drastic effect on players health of all ages.

Anti – prostitution
Atlantic City police have arrested 40 women in a weekend sweep targeting prostitution in the casino resort.
Two dozen of the arrested women gave out of state addresses including Dallas, Las Vegas and Seattle.
The ages of those charged ranged between 18 and 48.

Masked Men Steal $25,000
Four men wearing black masks strode into a resort casino in Puerto Rico.
Two of the robbers kept watch while one jumped on a gaming table demanding money and the other member of the gang stuffed cash into a bag.
The robbery occurred around 11pm on Monday 23rd August with less than two dozen players at the blackjack and roulette tables.

Poker Tip
The traditional August vacation period is a very good time to take a break from both work and poker.
I bumped into an old pal recently only to find that having won £1000 at a local tournament he had gone on to lose all his prize money in a “ cash “ game.
Its good to stand back from time to time a reflect on your strategies.
